Remembering Bailey – One of our first two Canine Innkeepers
Bailey was more than just a beloved member of the Big Sky Ranch Bed and Biscuit family—she was the heart and soul of our pack from the very beginning. As our first-ever Canine Innkeeper, she took her role with unwavering dedication, welcoming every guest with warmth, kindness, and a gentle, watchful eye.
From the moment we opened our doors, Bailey was there, leading the way with love and a quiet strength. She had an incredible ability to make every dog feel at home, whether it was a playful nudge to spark a game of chase or a comforting presence for those feeling a little unsure. She wasn’t just a greeter—she was a protector, a guide, and a true friend to all who walked through our gates.
Bailey’s time with us was filled with countless joyful moments, endless tail wags, and memories that will forever be woven into the fabric of Big Sky Ranch. Though she has now moved on to her next great adventure, we carry her spirit with us every day.
We miss you, Bailey, but we know you're still watching over us. 💙🐾
Honoring Hurley – Our Fearless and Loyal Companion
Hurley was a pillar of strength, a source of endless love, and a true companion to all. As Bailey’s sister and partner in welcoming guests, Hurley had a spirit as big as the Colorado sky. She carried herself with quiet confidence, always ensuring that every pup who arrived felt safe, secure, and part of the pack.
Where Bailey led with warmth and protection, Hurley brought a steady, grounding presence. She had a way of reading the energy of every dog, knowing exactly when to play, when to comfort, and when to simply sit in quiet companionship. Her gentle nature and wise soul made her a favorite among our guests—both the two-legged and four-legged kind.
Hurley embraced life at the ranch with a full heart, from basking in the sunshine to running through the open fields with joy and freedom. Though she has now moved on to her next journey, her spirit is woven into the very essence of Big Sky Ranch.
We miss you, Hurley. Your strength, loyalty, and love will always be a part of us. Run free, sweet girl.💙🐾

Meet Maddie – Our Resident Canine Innkeeper
At Big Sky Ranch Bed and Biscuit, every guest is greeted with a warm welcome, and no one does that better than Maddie, our beloved Resident Canine Innkeeper! With a wagging tail and a friendly nuzzle, Maddie takes her role very seriously—making sure that every new pup feels right at home from the moment they arrive.
A natural at spreading joy and comfort, Maddie has an incredible way of making new friends. Whether it’s leading a playful romp through the play yard, offering a reassuring presence to nervous newcomers, or simply lounging side by side with her canine companions, she ensures that every guest is having their perfect vacation at the ranch.
But Maddie’s journey to this dream job wasn’t always easy. She was rescued from the streets of Texas, where life was uncertain and tough. However, fate had bigger and brighter plans for her. When she found her forever home at Big Sky Ranch, she knew she had truly scored—not just a loving family but an important job of innkeeper. 💙🐾
At Big Sky Ranch Bed and Biscuit we believe that every dog deserves a vacation as exciting and relaxing as their owners’, which is why we’ve created a one-of-a-kind haven where pups can run, play, explore, and rest in a safe and loving environment.
At Big Sky Ranch, we provide spacious, fenced-in play areas where dogs can roam freely and make new friends. Hello!
The Bed and Biscuit is a wonderful place for dogs!
I have had a variety of pets throughout my life and at one time considered becoming a veterinarian. I am intuitive to individual dog needs which is very helpful when working with new friends and working with group personalities.
My passion for working at the Bed and Biscuit causes me to travel long distances just to be here. It’s worth it and I am here every opportunity I have to be here.
I highly recommend bringing your beloved dogs to this home away from home. One of my favorite things to do on winter breaks is sit on the sofa with a fire in the fire place and pet resting and sleepy dogs at the end of a fun filled day of playing outside.

At Big Sky Ranch Bed and Biscuit, we believe that every dog deserves a loving, fun, and stress-free environment while their owners are away. I founded Big Sky Ranch in 2016 with a simple but heartfelt mission: to create a home-away-from-home where dogs feel safe, happy, and loved.
From the very beginning, I wanted to offer more than just a place for dogs to stay—I wanted to provide them with an experience filled with joy, adventure, and care that mirrors the love they receive at home. Over the years, I have had the privilege of welcoming countless four-legged friends, each with their own unique personality and charm. These incredible dogs have not only become part of my extended family but have also enriched my life in ways I never could have imagined.
I laugh every day, love every day, and cherish the deep bonds I’ve formed with my furry guests. Their wagging tails, happy barks, and excited greetings remind me why I do what I do, and why I love it so much.
Bailey
Before we started Big Sky Ranch Bed and Biscuit we had two dogs, a black lab named Bailey, and a yellow lab named Hurley. We had a hard time finding a good place for them to stay when we were out of town. We wanted Bailey and Hurley to have as much fun where they stayed as we were having on our vacation. We did find one of our friends that was able to watch them occasionally in her home which was great. We preferred the home environment for them rather than the traditional kennel set up.
When we bought our house in Jefferson, Colorado on 35 acres, we thought this could be a great place for a dog boarding business. So we started Big Sky Ranch Bed & Biscuit. We wanted to have a place where our dog guests felt safe, loved and well cared for. We also wanted it to be an open environment for dogs that get along with other dogs. We thought other people might be looking for this type of boarding facility too.
Our dogs Bailey & Hurley were great innkeepers from the beginning. They helped our new arriving dog guests to feel comfortable and they enjoyed meeting them and showing them around. As our dog guests returned for more visits, we found that we got to know the dogs really well. They started to become members of our family. Maddie, a terrier mix, is the current resident canine innkeeper.
When the parents drop their dogs off they often say their dog got super excited as soon as they turned into our subdivision. And they stayed excited the whole way up the hill the Bed and Biscuit. This shows the parents that their dog loves being at the B&B as much as we love spending time with them.
When the parents pick their dogs up, they thank us for the pictures we send them and tell us that they appreciate what we do for their loved one. The parents know they can have a good time on their vacation because they know their dog is having tons of fun too.
A lot of our new business is from clients’ referrals. We thank them for that.

Hi all…
I have been at the Big Sky Ranch Bed and Biscuit since 2018. I absolutely love animals and working at a place like Big Sky Ranch Bed and Biscuit has been a dream of mine for the last 10 years. And incredibly I am now able to do my dream job in my local area.
I love animals and all the parts of taking care of them. Playing, petting and sitting with them on the couch. Whatever it is that I’m doing with them, we will be having a lot of fun!!!!
I also worked at the Park County Animal Hospital for 17 years. Some of you might know me from there. That work experience as a Vet Tech also gives me the knowledge to know if something isn’t right with your pet so that we can give them the attention they need.
I Truly Love All Aspects of working at the Big Sky Ranch Bed and Biscuit and I hope to see your Best Friends visit us soon.
